Walk With Ease Program
The Walk With Ease program, developed by the Arthritis Foundation, is a six-week self-directed program. Lace up your shoes and step toward better health!
UWAAA offers this program to help adults with arthritis manage pain and improve balance and walking pace. It’s also great for anyone wanting to make walking a habit.
Who Can Participate:
- Jefferson County residents aged 60 or older
- Able to stand for 10 minutes without increased pain
What you will do:
- Set personalized goals.
- Walk three times per week at your own pace for 10 to 35 minutes each time.
- Learn safe and effective stretching and strengthening exercises.
Self-Directed Program
Self-directed participants use the Walk With Ease guidebook to complete the six-week program on their own. Online assistance from a leader is available upon request. The participant guidebook is provided free of charge and includes all the tools you need to:
- Develop a walking plan that will meet your needs.
- Stay motivated.
- Manage pain.
- Learn to exercise safely.
